In-person education is returning for dentists and their teams. CDA Presents The Art and Science of Dentistry will take place both virtually and in San Francisco Sept. 9-11, giving registrants the opportunity to attend however ― and from wherever ― they choose, whether in person, virtually or a combination of both!

For the safety of all attendees and staff, and to comply with all local public health orders to mitigate exposure to COVID-19, CDA will observe protocols for in-person attendance at the San Francisco Moscone Center, where courses, workshops and the exhibit hall are located.

Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, face masks required

Attendees can take a few steps now to ensure they have the best experience in San Francisco. Here’s what to expect:

  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination will be required of all attendees upon entering the building. Self-attestation of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will not be accepted.
  • Well-fitted face masks must be worn at all times during the convention, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Advance registration is required for in-person courses. Because space is limited, attendees are encouraged to choose their courses through the registration dashboard.
  • After-hours excursions, such as dinners and other activities, should be planned with the local order in mind, as restaurants and other indoor places in San Francisco may require full COVID-19 vaccination to enter.

The San Francisco public health order of Aug. 12 allows proof of COVID-19 vaccination in the form of (1) the CDC vaccination card, (2) a photo of the CDC vaccination card stored on a phone or other electronic device, (3) a physical photo of the vaccination card, (4) vaccination documentation from a health care provider or (5) a personal digital vaccine record issued by the state of California or another state, local or foreign governmental jurisdiction.

Earning C.E. and connecting virtually

More than 125 courses are available to dentists and their teams. Dental professionals who are not able to meet the local public health order or who prefer to attend from their home, office or other location, can enjoy the virtual CDA Presents experience, including the opportunity to shop products and services from dentistry’s top exhibitors. Hands-on workshops are offered in-person only.

The attendee FAQ covers the need-to-know about CDA’s first hybrid convention, registration and costs, courses and C.E., the exhibit hall and availability of C.E. certificates.
