Consumers are gaining better access to superior cosmetic dentistry facilities and aesthetic procedures like cosmetic teeth whitening, dental implants, dental veneers, dental crowns, tooth bonding, teeth shaping, etc. which is fueling the adoption of dental laser treatment further. In addition, these treatments are non-invasive which complements its adoption further.

Significant expansion of dental tourism across various countries such as Malaysia, India, Mexico, etc., is greatly contributing to the business space as it has spurred the demand for sophisticated techniques like dental laser to a larger extent. Apart from the advantage of high-end techniques, dental tourism offers cost benefits and lesser waiting period which is attracting dental patients to these destinations. Every year, large number of individuals travel to these countries to obtain affordable oral treatments.

Considering the burgeoning product demand, major business players operating in dental laser market are inclined on developing innovative products to gain a competitive edge in the market. For instance, in 2021, BIOLASE, Inc., a leading manufacturer of dental lasers, announced that it has successfully formed a community of periodontists through the establishment of Waterlase Perio Academy. The academy is aimed to help clinicians provide implant and periodontal services with better patient outcomes, through consistent application of laser technology.

Quoting yet another instance, in 2020, renowned high-powered laser therapy products company, Summus Medical Laser, announced the launch of its new Horizon Dental Laser System. According to the company, this product is the first-Class IV therapy laser system that has been designed especially for the dental industry.

Continuous technological developments in soft tissue lasers for gingival contouring facilitate secured treatment which is instigating their adoption across dental care sector. A significant example of these lasers is diode laser which allows precise and fast removal of excess tissue with minimum incision. Such advancements are driving the product demand considerably which is anticipated to propel the growth of soft tissue segment across dental laser industry over the following years. This is also evident from the segment’s performance in 2018, during which it had accounted for lucrative revenue share of over 64%.

Elevating demand for effective tooth repair with minimum pain has fueled the adoption of endodontic treatment globally, over the past few years. This has been effectively supported by numerous benefits offered by endodontic treatment such as preservation of natural tooth structure, higher efficiency, cost-effectiveness and visually appealing results. According to the report, in 2018, endodontic treatment segment had recorded an appreciable valuation of more than 50 million and is expected to foresee substantial growth over coming years.
