Pre-Health Professions
SVSU offers all courses and advisement necessary to prepare for entrance into the following health professions schools.
- Allopathic medicine (M.D.)
- Osteopathic medicine (D.O.)
- Dentistry
- Veterinary medicine
- Pharmacy
- Physical Therapy*
- Physician assistant (P.A.)
- Podiatry
- Optometry
- Chiropractic medicine
- Naturopathic medicine
- Oriental medicine
*Students interested in pre-PT should contact John Lowry in the Department of Kinesiology, Health and Human Services Building 210, 989-964-7319.
Students interested in any other pre-health program should meet with the Pre-Health Professions Advisor no later than their first semester at SVSU.
In most cases, any major may be chosen. However, since the entrance requirements for professional schools do vary, the following courses serve as minimum prerequisite courses for most schools. Consult with the Pre-Health Professions Advisor to choose an appropriate major and course of study.
