DULUTH, MN– Local dentists are working together to help crews on the ground, battling the Greenwood Fire.
Arrowhead Orthodontics in Duluth said when they saw the news about the fires, they contacted the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to see how they could help.
The agency requested dental supplies for firefighters and paid postcards so the crews could write home.
Arrowhead worked with other dental offices to gather more than 500 toothbrushes, 300 tubes of toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash.
They’re printing the postcards and hope to have them all delivered by this weekend.
Kyle Dickinson, Manager of Arrowhead Orthodontics, said it’s the least they could do.
“It takes a village to get through these events when they happen and so it took us to step up and start raising these supplies to help the brave men and women fighting them,” said Dickinson.
The dentists say depending on how long the fire goes on, they’ll be ready to gather another load of supplies for the crews on the ground.
