
SIKESTON The crowning of Miss Sikeston at 8 p.m. Saturday on the main stage at the
Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo grounds will mark the end of the 77th Annual American Legion Cotton Carnival. The winner will assist the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary in their projects.
This year 19 Sikeston High School seniors are seeking the honor.
Kelsie Anderson
The 17-year-old daughter of Kelvin and Felecia Anderson, Kelsie is varsity cheerleader and varsity soccer team member. She is active in Link Crew, Red Peppers, Student Council and R-6 youth ambassador. Her hobbies include dancing, singing, refereeing Little League soccer games and watching old westerns with her grandparents. She plans to attend Lincoln University in Jefferson City and major in agriculture.
Molly Bogle
Molly Bogle, 17-year-old daughter of Scott and Genna Bogle, participates in varsity tennis, Red Peppers, where she is the secretary, Art Club, National Honor Society, Student Council, Key Club, Link Crew and FFA. She lists art as her favorite subject, and her hobbies include painting, baking and shopping with her KiKi. She plans to attend Missouri State University to earn a degree in elementary education.
Tamia Boyce
Active in Red Peppers and as a college ambassador, 17-year-old Tamia Boyce lists art as her favorite subject in school. She is the daughter of Bernadette Wims. Her hobbies include dancing and singing. After high school, she plans to attend college and become a nurse and a cosmetologist.
Sophia Carter
Sophia Carter, 17-year-old daughter of Kevin and Amye Kilmer and Jerome and Amber Stuppy, keeps busy with varsity softball, graphic arts, A-Plus tutoring, Key Club and Astra Club. Math is her favorite subject, and she enjoys volunteering at her church nursery and missionary work in Guatemala. She plans to attend Three Rivers College after graduation.
Micha Coaker
The 17-year-old daughter of LeeVoulia Coaker and Michael Coaker Sr., Micha Coaker participates in basketball and track and is active in Bleacher Bums, SCTC, FFA and the A-Plus program. She lists math and English as her favorite subjects. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and exercising as well as babysitting her niece. She plans to join the National Guard and then go to college, where she hopes to major in education and come back to Sikeston to teach.
Mackenzie Conway
Mackenzie Conway, 17, plays varsity tennis, and she serves as the Red Pepper Cayenne, FFA vice president and NHS service project coordinator. Shes also involved in Key Club, Astra, Link Crew, and Inspired Presenters. Her agriculture classes, specifically animal science, are her favorite. In her spare time, she likes horseback riding and thrift shopping. After graduation, she plans to attend Oklahoma State University, where she will major in animal science/pre-vet. She is the daughter of Mike and Julie Conway.
Mackenzie Davis
The 17-year-old daughter of Asian Davis, Mackenzie Davis participates in drama class and the Red Peppers. She lists social studies as her favorite subject, and her hobbies include shopping, cooking, traveling and writing. Her plans after high school include going to school for modeling and acting and moving to Atlanta, Georgia. Shed also like to be a movie director. She also loves country music, dancing and playing volleyball.
Kate Grubbs
Active in tennis, wrestling and Future Farmers of America, Kate Grubbs, who is the 17-year-old daughter of Bradley Grubbs and Stephanie Grubbs, lists art as her favorite subject in school. She is a three-time state qualifier for womens wrestling with placing fourth last school year at state. She also participates in Bleacher Bums, Inspired Presenter and Inspired Action Group. She plans to obtain certification in dental hygiene and work as a dental hygienist.
India Johann
India Johann, 17, made it to state three years in a row for violin solos and duets. The daughter of Antonia Johann and Shaun Johann is active in orchestra, Student Council, Bleacher Bums, Link Crew and Inspired Presenters. She also likes to cook, and she enjoys hanging with family and friends, especially her younger sibling. She plans to own a business to help others that are going through life issues.
Shea Landers
The 17-year-old daughter of Nikki Landers and Justin Landers, Shea Landers is the FFA secretary and she is a member of Red Peppers, Art Club and Key Club. Art is her favorite subject, and her hobbies include hiking, drawing, painting, making jewelry and exploring nature. After graduation, she plans to attend college to be a wildlife biologist.
Katelyn Payne
Katelyn Payne, who is the daughter of Nichole Payne and Jack Daniels, participates in softball, Red Peppers, marching band, Key Club, Skills USA, Link Crew, A+ Program and National Honors Society. The 17-year-old lists criminal justice as her favorite subject. After graduation, she plans to attend Missouri State University to major in criminal justice and minor in music education.
Quinn Riley
Quinn Riley, 17-year-old daughter of Chris and Sarah Leible, plays tennis, runs track and participates in Red Peppers, cadet teaching, Language Club and the A+ Program. She has taken several advanced placement classes and has accumulated several college credit hours. Her hobbies include: volunteering at her church, teaching Bible study to kindergarteners, painting, reading and working out. She plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University where she will study aviation and control program to gain her agricultural and private pilot license.
Zoe Robison
Active in varsity cheer, varsity soccer, National Honors Society, DECA, Red Peppers and Grow Your Own Teachers, Zoe Robinson is the co-editor of the yearbook. Algebra is her favorite subject. In her spare time, the 17-year-old daughter of Lucy and Bobby Robison enjoys volunteer work, reading, attending church, working and spending time with her friends and family. She plans to attend Mississippi State University and major in political science follow by attending law school.
Camryn Self
Camryn Self, 17, daughter of Brian and Dana Self, is active in the National Honor Society, Link Crew, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Inspired Presenter, Red Peppers, FBLA, marketing club and athletic leadership. She listed accounting as her favorite subject. Her hobbies include her churchs praise/worship team and volunteering for local organizations. She plans to attend Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and pursue a degree in music therapy. She hopes to be a successful music therapist.
Leilani Smith
Student body president Leilani Smith, 17, is also the National Honor Society secretary, varsity volleyball captain, varsity track member and Link Crew leader. She lists Spanish as her favorite subject and is also involved in Red Peppers, Student Council, Principal Advisory Committee, A-Plus Program, Skills USA, Inspired, DECA and volunteering for community and charity events. She plans to attend a four-year university and major in nursing. She is the daughter of Nicole Logan and Roman Smith.
Takyla Taylor
Tayklya Taylor, 17, is the daughter of Timeeka Taylor and Debryan Davis. She is active in Key Club and FFA, and her favorite subject is criminal justice. Her hobbies include participating in the Bleacher Bums and making clothes. After graduation, she plans to attend college to major in criminal justice.
Emma Thompson
The 17-year-old daughter of Sarah Thompson and BJ Thompson, Emma Thompson is active in the Red Peppers, A-Plus tutoring program, Student Council, National Honor Society and College Now Program through which she is a sophomore at Three Rivers College. She lists science as her favorite subject. Her hobby includes volunteering as an American Red Cross blood drive leader. She plans to travel over the summer before attending Westminster College and hopes to become a licensed dermatologist.
Aubrey Wheeler
A four-year varsity cheerleader and regional and state competition cheer team member, Aubrey Wheeler is also on the yearbook staff. She is the 17-year-old daughter of Justin and Kim Wheeler. Science is her favorite subject, and she is also active in the Link Crew, Red Peppers, FCA, DECA, Inspired, Action and Social Media Group. Her hobbies include scuba diving, traveling, shopping and spending time with family and friends. She plans to attend the University of Mississippi where she will obtain a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences with a pre-dental course track.
Lydia Wren
Lydia Wren, 18, has participated in Red Peppers (and as Vice Cayenne), DECA, FBLA and Link Crew. She lists marketing as her favorite subject. Shes also competed in and won DECA awards. In her spare time, the daughter of Rance and Keri Wren said she enjoys spending time with family and friends and volunteering at various community organizations. She plans to attend college to pursue a degree in marketing and design. She will also take courses to obtain a real estate license and hopes to one day own a small business in Sikeston.
