Lucas Dental Associates

Customized Dental Care for the Community

As an entrepreneur, mother, salsa dancer,  and graduate from Temple University School of Dentistry, Dr. Robin Lucas opened Lucas Dental Associates in 2000 with her husband with the goal of providing gentle dental care to the community.

“Over the years we have successfully grown to the point where we currently have 2 locations in Hoboken,” Dr. Lucas told Hoboken Girl. “One location caters to children and the other to adults, both located on the same block at 200 and 232 Bloomfield Street in Hoboken.”

The practice aims to provide excellent dental care in a compassionate manner to all patients. The staff recognizes that patients need someone to guide them through their dental options and help them to determine what is the ideal dental plan tailored to their needs.

The Team at Lucas Dental Associates

Dr. Lucas oversees the daily operations of the practice with the help of a well-trained team which includes dentists and dental hygienists.

“Our team consists of 2 general dentists, a part-time pediatric dentist, and 2 full-time hygienists. We have a diverse support staff which we are proud of,” Dr. Lucas mentioned. “We also have access to specialty services, esthetic labs, and with the help of our coaches we deliver optimal care to our client base.”

As a team, the practice offers comprehensive dental care for families ranging from preventative care, basic and advanced restorative dental care, cosmetic, and implant restorative procedures. Patients can also explore options for extensive Invisalign services to correct a range of dental malalignments.

“We understand that our patients have a wide range of options when seeking a dentist so we stand out by being mindful of their time with appointments. We limit wait time to 15 mins or less, so in most cases, patients are seen promptly,” Dr. Lucas told Hoboken Girl. “We are proud of the investment we make in our personnel via training, investment in modern technology, and personally, many of our patients have direct access to me via cell phone and video conferencing after hours if needed. We pride ourselves on being efficient in the delivery of care and we never allow insurance limitations to dictate the type of care our patients receive.”

With 21 years of experience, Lucas Dental Associates is one of the most experienced and seasoned practices in the area. After two decades of serving Hudson County and beyond, Dr. Lucas still looks forward to helping each new client.

“The best part of running our business is rising to the daily challenges of solving the problems our clients face. No two days are alike, therefore we have to be well prepared and coordinated to help our patients,” Dr. Lucas said. “Our tagline is ‘Compassionate care resulting in beautiful smiles’. For us, this means being mindful of the vulnerability that our patients might feel being at the dentist, and then delivering the best care possible for a satisfied patient.”

Clients Come to Lucas Dental for Solutions

While running the practice is challenging, Dr. Lucas loves it and finds her role rewarding.

“I’m a natural ‘people person’ and I’m great at what I do. Make no mistake, my job is challenging because I wear many hats. However, the daily choice of my attitude and spiritual grounding allows me to meet and overcome daily challenges,” she mentioned. “This allows me to show up and be present for my patients. And thankfully my personality lends itself to helping make people feel relaxed and comfortable, enabling them to get through stressful dental visits.”

The team at Lucas Dental Associates is in the business of helping the community as a whole improve its dental health.

“I love the rich mixture of cultures and demographics in Hoboken. Being an immigrant from Guyana, South America I can appreciate diversity and am able to relate to a wide cross-section of individuals. Our local community certainly serves that up richly,” Dr. Lucas said.
