The statewide Nevada Dental Association is pleased to welcome Ed De Andrade, DDS, as its new president. He succeeds Mark Funke, DDS, who will continue as a member of NDA’s executive committee.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. De Andrade as our new president,” said Michele Reeder, executive director of the Nevada Dental Association. “We are excited to move forward and anticipate many great things to come.”
De Andrade specializes in periodontics and dental implantology and takes great pride in providing his patients the best dental care possible at Anthem Periodontics and Dental Implants in Henderson, Nevada.
He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), American Dental Association (ADA), Southern Nevada Dental Society, American College of Oral Implantology, California Society of Periodontology, and the Western Society of Periodontics. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, the highest level of professional achievement in periodontics, and a distinction achieved by very few periodontists.
De Andrade previously served a part-time instructor at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine from 2003 to 2011. His work has been published in the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry and the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry, and he has been rated as a top Las Vegas dentist by his peers in Las Vegas Life Magazine for two years.
He earned his dental degree from New York University College of Dentistry, where he graduated at the top of his class and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. He went on to complete a two-year general practice residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York, and a three-year specialty training in periodontics at the West Los Angeles Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
