West Sacramento residents now have access to Suave Dental —  a privately owned dentistry that is known for its accessibility both in cost and in its acceptance of most insurance policies.

The dentistry held its Grand Opening Tuesday to a small group consisting of staff, management and city officials. The new location — 2727 W Capitol Ave — is the seventh that President and CEO Dr. Ahmad Momani has opened since opening his first location in Livingston roughly a decade ago.

“I believe dental care is a right,” Dr. Momani emphasized. “We are here to provide this dental care and we are proud of [providing] quality affordable dentistry.”

He explained that it’s important that he and his dentistry attempt to work with people who are having a hard time finding a place to receive appropriate dental care after seeing how difficult it could be to do so over the years.

“I tell myself all the time, ‘we need to make a profit, but we need to be human’ and we always need to understand that there is a human side in dental care we need to be aware of.”

Dr. Momani said it’s a blessing that his business has gotten to this point and acknowledged that he would have never gotten to where he is without the help of every member of Suave Dental, his staff and management and his family.

“It feels surreal, honestly, because it’s a dream that I’ve always had and I’m seeing it being realized now,” he said.

Reema Momani, financial manager of Suave Dental and Dr. Momani’s wife, said what sets them apart from other dentistries is that they accept all insurances, including Medi-Cal.

“[That’s] a rare find, especially in our area, unfortunately,” she said regarding dentistry. “That’s how Dr. Momani started. For his patients before anything else. Everything else comes second hand to him.”

Notable city officials including West Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrero and Chamber of Commerce President Denice Domke attended the event to learn more about the new business and how it will benefit residents.

“They are very inclusive,” Guerrero said. “They speak Spanish, Russian and I believe Punjabi, which is very critical in our community to be able to serve those that are in our region.”

Guerrero also commended Dr. Momani for being very accepting of all kinds of insurances — something that is very important considering the amount of unemployment the country is still experiencing that has left many uninsured.

“We have a good percentage of residents who qualify for Medi-Cal, especially now with COVID-19 and the many who have become unemployed because of it,” she noted. “Having them open up now and providing residents with the dental care they need is exciting.”

Domke reiterated many of Guerrero’s compliments adding that the city is lucky that the business chose their community to expand into.

“Their values and their commitment to the quality of care is a keystone of this practice, and it’s impressive,” she emphasized.

Domke explained that Suave Dental are now chamber members and that the chamber will do for them what they do for all other members.

“We will provide information for the community, residents and businesses and make connections with like-minded family practice offices and other healthcare providers to make sure we can help support their efforts,” she explained.

Dr. Farid Zurmadi, clinical director and associate dentist of Suave Dental, said he’s proud of working for Dr.Momani because they welcome everyone.

“Everybody needs treatment, that’s what we’re here for,” he highlighted. “Unfortunately, most private practices are very selective in what they do.”

Zurmadi has been in practice for 20 years and said his experience is vast. Although they accept all forms of insurances, residents should expect to be in good hands if they choose to visit.
