news, local-news,

A dental group is planning to set up shop in a Sale Street building in the Orange CBD. A development application on behalf of Orthodontics Exclusively is currently on public exhibition at Orange City Council. If approved the business would shift from its current location in Hill Street to the building owned by the Baptist Churches of NSW Property Trust. The church is adjacent to the site, a converted former house. The DA states the building would only require internal fitout with no exterior changes, apart from signage, required for the dental surgery. It said there would be a reception area, three surgery rooms, a sterilisation room, an office and a lab plus staff areas. “Hours of operation are likely to be Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm. However, as with most practices, there may be occasional circumstances that require treatments outside of these nominated hours,” it said. It said a driveway on the southern side led to an existing eight space car park behind the building. “As part of the proposed development, two additional parking spaces will be provided at the rear of the building,” it said. “One of the new spaces will be dedicated for people with a disability and includes a shared zone. “Service vehicles are likely to include light commercial vehicles (vans and utilities) that are able to park on the street or on the site to make deliveries. By the very nature of the proposed use, a dental surgery is unlikely to generate the need for delivery by larger trucks.” It is on exhibition until Monday, August 9.
