Chicago, Dec. 20, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — P&G Crest Oral-B continue their legacy of supporting the dental specialty of prosthodontics by donating a total of $80,000 in 2017 to the American College of Prosthodontists Education Foundation (ACPEF). Representatives from P&G Crest Oral-B presented the funds at the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) 47th Annual Session, held in San Francisco from Nov. 1-4. 2017.

“P&G Crest Oral-B has a long history of generously supporting the American College of Prosthodontists and our Education Foundation,” said ACP President Robert M. Taft, DDS, FACP. “This continued support has been vital in helping us advance the field of prosthodontics through research and education.”

For over a decade, P&G Crest Oral-B has regularly supported the ACPEF, with this year’s donation being the largest contribution to date.

“With emerging new technologies and the on-going digital revolution, prosthodontics is changing in front of our eyes. The ACP plays an important role in educating new prosthodontists and innovators. P&G Crest Oral-B is dedicated to partner with the ACPEF to support the next generation of researchers who will shape the future of prosthodontics,” said Dr. Malgorzata Klukowska, Principal Scientist, Professional & Scientific Relations and Clinical Operations at P&G Co.

Evidence of P&G Crest Oral-B’s dedication to furthering prosthodontics can be found in their support of ACPEF’s Research Fellowship grant, which gives funds to promising dental scientists-in-training for research. Since 2005, this grant has helped fund over 70 research investigations in the field of prosthodontics.  The support of P&G has also enabled the ACPEF to continue its mission of advancing prosthodontics through research and education.

“The ACPEF continues its strongest support of patients’ well-being through the support of P&G Crest Oral-B,” said Lyndon F. Cooper, DDS, PhD, FACP, Chair of the ACPEF.

In the past several years, the ACPEF has awarded more than $1 million in grants to advance the specialty of prosthodontics.

About Prosthodontists

A prosthodontist is a dental specialist who focuses on the restoration and replacement of missing teeth and correcting other oral or facial issues. With their advanced training, prosthodontists are able to help patients with implants, dentures and veneers, all the way to full mouth and jaw reconstructions.

About the ACP

The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) is the only ADA recognized organization for the specialty of prosthodontics, and is the only prosthodontic organization whose membership is based solely on education credentials. Founded in 1970, ACP is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing patient care, advancing the art and science of prosthodontics, promoting the specialty of prosthodontics to the public and other dentists and healthcare professionals, ensuring the quality of prosthodontic education and providing professional services to its membership.
